China, Yunnan, in gift box
Pu Erh tea has been cultivated for 1700 years by Chinese minorities in Yunnan. Locals discovered that eating the leaves had medicinal benefits and so cultivation was encouraged. Many ancient tea trees (Gu Shu) are in existence around Yunnan province today.
